Since 1911 when International Women’s Day began, women have come a long way. In 32 countries of the world International Women’s Day is a national holiday also known as The UN Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.
In New York City where there will be several days of workshops, study groups, women’s activities, musical and dramatic presentations, and major international speakers, the UN is always heavily involved. We hope to show films of many of the celebrations all over the world so that Triangle women can get a feeling for the gigantic scope of IWD.
At our Triangle happening you will find a variety of activities providing you with possibilities for getting to know other women, learning about opportunities for women, becoming involved in projects, and just having a fun afternoon. There will be things to see, things to do, and refreshments to eat. You will take home with you some new ideas, good feelings, and the benefits of being with a group of women.
